The Process

ALTERFORM™ CFA Additives foaming agents are more easily dispersible in the polymer matrix, resulting in a more uniform and consistent foaming process.

Products are added upstream at the front end of the extruder, widening the process window to enable more uniform dispersion through the polymer.

When the reaction temperature is reached, the foaming process occurs at the polymer-CFA interface; yielding foamed resin rather than gassing at a fiber interface.

Typical cell size is 50 to 500 µ.
